Russians, Ukrainians, Jews, and former soviet people have come to this area and greatly contributed and now many are moving out to big homes in sheepshead bay and Manhattan beach however this is still our main neighborhood for stores and restaurants. My brother is younger and says many Mexican youths bully him by the 2nd street park and talk about this is 'their neighborhood' and it is very scary for us. they are hassling many older people including people by the synagogue on Fridays. Am seeing many graffiti tags for gangs called sureno, la raza etc. Lately they have been gaining numbers and instead of families we have many bad characters here. In the past two years there has been many residents from Mexico moving into the multi-family homes in between Brighton beach Ave and Neptune Ave, at first it was fine and we think that they are hard workers and never try to upset the area.
